6" Corbel Block- a simple detail that is pleasing & quite effective - has an Arts & Crafts look about it.. We use it under boxed out windows or under framed out gable ends.

Cap & Fillet Casing- an interior trim detail suitable to both towne & country style homes. A big plus with this style of casing is that there are no mitred corners which are prone to open even under the best of conditions.

Energy Efficient Wall System- This system has worked extremely well in our homes. The additional construction costs are usually offset by energy savings in 3 to 5 years (depends on your building location - climatic conditions & energy costs).

Cedar Bracket- Another simple but pleasing exterior detail, use this bracket under the eaves to enhance the look of any structure.

Timber Bracket- Use this easy to build 4x4 western cedar bracket to support light loads, like the roof that protects this garage door. Dowelling gives an authentic mortise & tenon look.

BUILDING NOTES

Eastern White Cedar Shingle Installation Guideline- One of our favourite sidings, eastern white cedar shingles add texture & depth to a wall finish. The unique cellular structure of cedar together with the vertical grain of the installed shingle make this a long lasting & low maintenance siding.

Frost Protected Shallow Foundations (FPSF)- Many of our designs are suited to this construction method. It's particularly effective for homes with lower level walkouts or for slab-on-grade construction in frost susceptible areas.
